Once
the presence of a suitable host has been established, the Facehugger is revived
in minutes. Dormancy chemicals are replaced with neurological stimulants preparing
the creature for action. Propelled by a muscular tail, the beast launches itself
at the host's face, clamping itself into position, rendering the host unconscious
and inserting an opvipositor down the victim's oesophagus. Despite the violence
of the attack, the host is kept alive. Once the Embryo is placed, the Facehugger
dies.
